Must Have

Kforce has a client in Juno Beach, FL that is seeking a Solar Project Engineer who will be supporting solar farm design. In this position, the Solar Project Engineer will be responsible for managing 3rd party contractor teams to develop engineering designs for solar projects. Project engineering responsibilities span from initial concept definition and final commissioning and require continuous coordination with diverse project stakeholders such as environmental, procurement, transmission services, and project managers for early stage. A successful candidate will have experience applying value engineering to balance reliability, cost, and performance for complex systems, along with thorough knowledge of the various applicable engineering disciplines including electrical, structural, civil, and materials. A successful candidate will have outstanding verbal and written communications skills, along with a record of coordinating project stakeholders and mobilizing teams of engineers to achieve business objectives. A preferred candidate will have experience successfully managing schedules and budgets for major capital projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering - Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, Aerospace or Chemical
  • 5+ years of experience; Exceptions can be made for less than 5 years if that experience is a good match
  • Engineering and project management experience on utility scale solar projects is preferred
  • Great communication, leadership and project management skills

Engineering and project management in the following fields may also be considered:

  • DG/commercial solar
  • Other technologies in the power industry - wind, BESS, combined cycle, nuclear, hydrogen, substation, transmission, etc.
  • Strong candidates with experience outside of the power industry (aerospace, civil/stormwater, etc.)

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
